1. Commitment to Achieving Net Zero

Options Healthcare Services Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero carbon emissions by 2045, in line with the UK Government’s decarbonisation strategy and NHS England’s Greener NHS ambitions.

4. Carbon Reduction Targets

Options Healthcare Services Limited aims to reduce carbon emissions to:

40 tCO₂e by 2030 (30% reduction from baseline).
20 tCO₂e by 2035 (65% reduction from baseline).
Net Zero by 2045.

5. Carbon Reduction Initiatives

We have already implemented the following measures:

Transitioned to hybrid/electric vehicles for care coordinators and fleet replacement (20% of pool cars).

Introduced a car sharing and public transport scheme for carers.
Moved to a renewable electricity provider for office premises.
Implemented digital care planning systems to reduce paper and printing.
Increased recycling and introduced zero-to-landfill waste policy.

Future initiatives planned include:

Phasing out all petrol/diesel pool cars by 2032.
Introducing low-emission mileage reimbursement incentives for care workers.

Expanding use of telehealth and remote monitoring to reduce travel.
Procuring from suppliers with verified Net Zero or STS/SALSA certification.
Annual carbon literacy training for staff.

6. Governance & Monitoring

CRP reviewed annually by the General Manager (Northamptonshire branch) and reported to the Board of Directors.

Emissions monitoring via government-approved calculators.

Progress published in annual sustainability statement.

7. Declaration

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and approved by the Board of Options Healthcare Services Limited. We confirm our commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2045 and to continuously improving carbon reduction within our domiciliary care services.
